Bird of Paradise Care
If you want a statement plant, this is it.
Each new leaf is larger than the last and they’ll quickly fill out a corner and add amazing height.
I’ve had this plant for about 2 years, and it has at least tripled in size in that time. It is growing in a coco coir mix that has great moisture retaining qualities but still lets the roots breathe.
I think I need to tackle repotting it this summer—it should be a sight to behold!
This thing takes A LOT of water and sunshine to get those large gorgeous leaves. They tear easily as well (which is normal in their natural environment) so I keep it indoors all year round to minimize the damage. I water with fertilizer every 2-3 weeks. At least a gallon of water, usually 2.
Do you own one of these stunners?
